Sidoarjo DWTP

VWS was responsible for design & build of a plant with our patented technologies: the enhanced lamella settling process Multiflo TM clarifiers and FiltrafloTM sand filters. The construction was completed within 1 year in 1999.

Philippines

Fort Bonifacio Water & Wastewater Plants

The project is to ensure the water supply and wastewater treatment for Metro Manila.

VWS was responsible for design and build a water treatment plant and sewage treatment plant in line with the development of Bonifacio Global city at the heart of Metro Manila.

The dual media high rapid filtration process FiltrafloTM was used in the water treatment facilities and the enhanced lamella settling process MultifloTM and physic-chemical deodorization process AquilairTM were used in the wastewater treatment plant.

Malaysia

Sungai Selangor phase 2 Water Supply Scheme

The SSP2 project was implemented on a BOT concept under the State of Selangor Water Supply Privatisation Programme. The construction of the SSP2 was carried out in 2 stages with a combined design capacity of 950 000 m3/d.

VWS was awarded of this contract and used the patented high rate lamella settler ActifloTM clarification process. The construction commenced in 1996 and completed in December 2000.

The SSP2 water treatment plant is one of the largest drinking water plants in Malaysia and the first drinking plant in the country to use the ActifloTM clarification process.

KIPC Dungun Water Supply

The plant supplies treated water to the Petronas Petroleum Industrial Complex managed by Petronas. The water treatment facilities in Dungun plant were partly designed and built by VWS.

To achieve high standards in water production and meet the specific water quality requirements of Petronas, VWS provided the customized solutions: the enhanced lamella settling process MultifloTM and FiltrafloTM sand filters.

Bernam Headworks WTP

The project is to extend the existing water treatment plant from 20 000 m3/day to

40 000 m3/day.

VWS was responsible for design and build of the upgrading works. The FiltrafloTM sand filter was used in this plant.

Singapore

Kranji NEWater Plant

In 2001, the Public Utilities Board of Singapore (PUB) awarded VWS the contract to design and build one of its first commercial NEWater Plants in Kranji at a capacity of 40 000 m3/d. The Kranji NEWater plant started commercial production of NEWater in 2002 and VWS has since upgraded its production capacity to 82 000 m3/d. Advanced technology employing membrane micofiltration plant followed by reverse osmosis and UV processes has been adopted to treat secondary effluent from existing sewage treatment plant to produce high-grade water (NEWater) of quality that far exceeds the WHO's standard.

The Kranji contracts are excellent demonstration of VWS technical capability and the effectiveness of membrane technologies, which offer a competitive solution to the reclamation of waste water for countries suffering from water shortages.

Bedok NEWater Demonstration plant

In 1999, PUB engaged VWS to build a 10,000 m3/d NEWater Demonstration plant at the Bedok Water Reclamation Plant to demonstrate the viability of reclaiming high grade water (NEWater) from wastewater effluent using membrane technology. It was the first NEWater plant in Singapore. Its successful operation and the excellent results obtained literally launched the full-scale commercial implementation of the NEWater programme in Singapore.

Thailand

Mahasawat DWTP Phase III

VWS' first municipal contract in Thailand. The project is to ensure the water supply to Bangkok and it's a JBIC loan project.

The 3rd Phase which treats an additional 420 000 m3 of raw water per day boasts 2 units of world largest reactor clarifier solid contact at 63m diameter, 14 filter tanks of VWS FiltrafloTM and integration of Phase 1 & 2 treatment plants' SCADA system into one universal automation system.

Vietnam

Ha Giang water supply plant

The project, financed by French soft loan, is to build a new water treatment plant with a capacity of 6 000 m3/day.

VWS was responsible for the design, equipment supply and commissioning of the plant. The lamella settling process MultifloTM and FiltrafloTM sand filters were used in this plant.

Kontum water supply plant

The project, financed by French soft loan, is to upgrade and extend the Kontum water supply plant.

VWS was responsible for the design, equipment supply and commissioning of the plant. The lamella settling process MultifloTM and FiltrafloTM sand filters were used in this plant.

Provincial Towns water supply plant SP5

The project, financed by Asia Development Bank, is to build 4 new water supply plants as following: Long Xuyen, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Pleiku with a total capacity of 94 000 m3/day.

VWS was responsible for the design, equipment supply and commissioning of the plant. The lamella settling process MultifloTM and FiltrafloTM sand filters were used in this plant.

Yen Bai water supply plant

Construction of a water supply plant for Yen Bai province. VWS was responsible for the design, equipment supply and commissioning of the plant. The lamella settling process MultifloTM and FiltrafloTM sand filters were used in this plant.

Tan Ann Water Supply
